All teaching and research is informed by CP3’s close working relationships with industry partners. These partners give our students the opportunity to evaluate a problem or innovation from a practical or commercial perspective.
In discussion with our industry partners, CP3 has formulated an open innovation industrial collaboration agreement. The pre-competitive nature of the CDT enables companies to work together in novel ways and have a greater interaction beyond their specifically sponsored projects.
Current industry members:
- Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC)
- Diamond Light Source
- Haldor Topsoe
- Venator (formerly Huntsman)
- Perceptive Engineering
- Process Systems Enterprise (PSE)
- Science & Technologies Facilities Council (STFC, Hartree)
Our industry partners not only benefit from access to some of the UK’s finest experimental and computational facilities, they also have access to some of the brightest minds. Our doctoral researchers are part of a dynamic, inter-CDT study system, giving them the benefit of peer-to-peer, cross-disciplinary research experience. They will also complete an industry placement of at least 3 months, gaining an applied understanding of particle engineering in context
